  Early modern and modern manuscripts, most of which deal with fishing and fisheries in Japan, were collected by the staff of the Institute’s former Tsukishima Branch, which was active in the early 1950s when the Institute was still an incorporated foundation.
  Photographs of historical documents taken in regional areas are kept on microfilm or as digital data.
