Commissioned Research: Publication and Preservation of Miyake Village Local Historical Materials

Purpose

The State of Studies of the Miyakejima Folk Museum
(August, 2019)

As part of the research project commissioned by Miyake Village, members visit the island to examine and organize the village’s folk materials, which will be studied, published and preserved. Activities involve compiling a catalogue of the materials held by the Miyakejima Folk Museum and also interviewing senior islanders about local livelihoods and customs, which will be gathered into books of oral history.
