Mingu Forum

  • Mingu Forum 13 (8th video broadcast)
  • Mingu Forum 14 (9th video broadcast)

A training class to measure mingu artifacts began in 1974 in association with mingu research courses. The class took the form of a mingu research workshop in 2015 and became a forum in 2016.
Held two or three times a year alongside the Folk Cultural Studies Seminar, the forum is moderated by the editor of the Mingu Monthly and topics raised at the periodical’s editorial meetings are discussed.
Mingu forum deals with a wide range of themes. Participants listen to veteran mingu researchers, receive an introduction to the Institute’s collections, or discuss the problem of folklore museums closing. Reports about the forum are published in the Mingu Monthly to enhance the organic collaboration with the journal.
Since FY 2020, videos have been posted and made available on the official website and YouTube channel.
